Plein Air Workshop On the Beach - A Full Day With Christine D'Addario; September 12, 2023 (Rain Date Sept. 13) Registration Open to All July 15 and closes August 30
Join Christine D’Addario, accomplished plein air artist, on location at the beach! She will share her tried and true techniques for creating a work of art from life.
This workshop is for beginners to masters because there is always something new to learn! Material list will be provided to participants in advance of the workshop.
Christine will share various tools, methods, and strategies to bring together a finished painting in a short period of time and will explain:
The importance of the intention behind your work (story/ feeling/ inspiration/why)
The need for time management due to the influence of nature (Shifts in light/tide/people & boats moving)
Key elements of observation & how to simplify your vision
How to use strong design as the foundation to support your vision and build your best work upon
how to maximize your unique style strengths and personality to enhance your work
Schedule and Fee: 1 day workshop $80 Members and $95 non-members : 10:30-12:30 - discussion, demo, set up 12:30 - BYO lunch break 1pm- 4:30 - Plein air fun! All are welcome to stay later. I will paint another demo after class. The colors are special at dusk
12 person maximum We will meet in Long Beach where there is food and bathroom on the boardwalk. Exact location provided once finalized.
Please try to visit this location at least once before the workshop. This will help enhance your visual memory & connection to the location & in turn increase your ability to paint as your best artistic self in this location.

About the Artist: Christine is a award-winning Long Island fine artist, who specializes in Seascapes and figurative oil paintings. Her coastal scenes, convey the alluring character of Long Island and the healing powers of the sea. She is a member of the historic, Salmagundi Club in NYC where she partakes in exhibitions, workshops, and serves as an alternate juror. Her work has been featured in International Contemporary Artist, American Art Collector, Long Island Living, and Dan’s papers. Visit Christine at her studio located in her beautiful home on the Gold Coast of Long Island.
